Nuts & Bolts

So the site has been up for a couple of weeks now.  I’ve been in grad school for approximately one week.  Have I disturbed the universe?  Not yet, but I am optimistic about the future.

I’ve been working with my students in the Writ 101 class I teach about the idea of a “portfolio.”  60% of their grade is comprised of a greatest hits type collection of all the work they will eventually do over the semester.  I even linked my site for them on blackboard as an example of a “showcase portfolio.”  Well, students, if you’re reading, this is no longer a showcase portfolio.  I have been hypnotized and mesmerized by quantity over quality.  Since my last update, additions include, but are not limited to:

  • Alternate versions of stories. (see  Dark Thoughts of Dead Things – Abridged)
  • The dismal, disgusting tale Howard’s Head in Veronica’s Box, (because it was referenced in The Writing Workshop.)
  • Finally, I added a piece that I think is very cute called The Sunday Afternoon Book Club, because, well, I just plain forgot to include it before.

So there you have it.   Again, thanks for hanging out, and please let me know if you want to be linked.  Writing is not done in a vacuum, nah mean?
